During the regular Council meeting held on March 18th, 2026, Council passed a resolution to implement an Infrastructure Maintenance Fee. The purpose of this fee is to support the ongoing maintenance of municipal infrastructure impacted by oilfield activity.

 

This $2500.00 fee will be invoiced directly to the license holder upon completion that the well has reached a qualifying status (e.g., drilling, cased, complete, or active). 

 

The fee also applies to oil rigs that are moving through the municipality. Operators are required to contact the rural municipality in advance when they will be moving through the area.
