Beavers are classified as a nuisance within the rural municipality. Beaver dams can cause the flooding of crop and pastures, which can have a negative impact on municipalities and property owners.  Beavers are also known to block culverts. This creates an obstruction of waterways further leading to some negative impacts on ecologically sensitive areas, infrastructure, and the economy. Thus, being why beavers are defined as nuisances.
